So how do you start your journey?

Hey! We're Tatjana & Jonas
We wrote this guide because we've been in your shoes. The wedding planning process is a full-time job. At times, it can be soul-sucking, especially when there are too many hands in one jar.
That's the core reason we fully integrated from big weddings and into elopements. To help couples navigate the most important day of their lives. This is fulfilling. It's exhilarating. So we are here for you.

Step 1 - Choosing The Right Location
Imagine a place that makes your heart race—maybe a sun-kissed beach, a cozy mountain cabin, or vibrant cultural markets filled with spices and laughter. Dreaming of these destinations is the first step to adventure, opening a world waiting to be explored. Picture dancing under the northern lights or enjoying coffee in a charming café. Let this guide take you through breathtaking locations, sparking new dreams and helping you discover that perfect spot you've been longing for. Dream big—the world is full of possibilities!

Location Idea #1
National and State Parks
Pros: Amazing views, NPS available for emergencies, random but needed "congratulations" from strangers, easy permitting, and nearby services like lodging, restaurants, stores, and more!
Cons: It can get crowded; shared outdoor spaces (possibly with another couple), permitting is straightforward, but communication can be a terrible experience; and parking or traffic can be a huge hurdle.

What's your favorite time of year?
Think really deeply about your elopement date. Couples choose their date based on several factors, such as busyness at their favorite location to elope or at the wrath of Mother Nature, like hurricanes, monsoons, and wildfires. Some couples get spiritual and choose it based on their religion or astronomy. What we really like is when couples spread their dates so they're not too close to birthdays or holidays.
But also consider the environment. Do you want golden red leaves to fall in the background? Do you want to have a winter wonderland? Maybe a pristine waterfall cascading into a lake? Or do you want blooming desert flowers? The possibilities are endless.
Location Idea #2
Beaches or Beachside
Pros: It has a certain vibe that feels like a honeymoon or an escape. It's certainly effortless and has natural beauty, with sunrise or sunset creating incredible lighting. There's total freedom of movement, you can play in the sand, and get great candids.
Cons: While a beach wedding is incredibly romantic, it does come with unpredictable elements. High winds and sand can be a challenge. Unless we hike to a remote, hidden cove, popular beaches are highly public spaces, meaning you might have sunbathers and tourists sharing your backdrop. You are also at the mercy of the ocean's schedule.

Thought Exercise
Get into a quiet room with your partner. Hold hands, close your eyes, and imagine the place where you are reciting your vows to each other. What does that feel like? Imagine the temperature, is there a breeze? Are your lungs pumping from a short hike? What spectacular view is behind your partner?
Whatever you imagined together is the place your heart truly wants to elope.
Location Idea #3
Landscape: Desert, Forest, Jungle, etc.
Pros: Eloping in a national park or natural landscape offers an unmatched backdrop that no venue could ever replicate — towering forests, sweeping desert canyons, or lush jungle canopies create a sense of awe and intimacy that feels truly sacred. Most importantly, these settings strip away the noise of a traditional wedding, leaving just the two of you surrounded by something timeless.
Cons: Eloping in a natural landscape comes with its share of logistical challenges — permits can be difficult to obtain, and many public areas have strict rules about where a ceremony can take place. Unpredictable weather, rugged terrain, and limited amenities mean we'll need to plan carefully and be prepared for the unexpected.

Maybe a Destination?
Why not make your future anniversaries extra special by eloping in another country so that you can visit your elopement spot(s) with your kiddos? Or maybe you just want something special for the two of you to experience together. Whatever the reason may be, go where your heart follows. The right place is waiting for you.
Continue to permits, officant, and license.
